We had another exciting Memorial Day. Amy got to spend the first half of it in Centerville being tutored in math by Grandpa. She has to pass her 1050 final. Even though it was pouring rain and cold most of the day, we planned a barbeque and invited Brad, Sue, Russ and Alyssa. Amy invited Adam. The event was topped off with the usual game of Guesstures. The girls won easily and there was a lot of mumbling from David that we should be playing Trivial Pursuit instead. Yup, pretty much a normal Memorial Day.

Pole Vault
So in the off-season for Minerettes, Amy decided to learn to pole vault. Much of that decision was based on the fact that Keith is a pole vaulter. She hasn't had a lot of success in vaulting, but she has had a lot of fun and she has met some really nice kids.
This is Amy vaulting at the Riverton meet. Their bar doesn't go any lower than 8 ft. Amy can pretty much make it over Bingham's bar because it can go as low as 6 ft. 8 in. All the girls have a rough time getting over.
Keith is Bingham's best vaulter. This is him winning Region at 13 ft. 6 in. The season turned into a soap-opera when Amy and Keith decided to take an official "break." Once all the guys realized that Amy didn't belong to Keith any more, they all jumped into the picture.
This is Jordan, Bingham's second best vaulter and a big fan of Amy. He took Amy out last weekend.

This is Adam (the guy in beige standing on the right). He got cut from the tennis team earlier this year by some really mean tennis coach so he decided to start pole vaulting. Most of the time he is on the JV team. He was working here at Region as the video guy. He is also a big fan of Amy's. He is a really nice boy and David has him in class. Adam's dad teaches at Bingham too. Amy was much more excited to watch the video guy than any of the vaulters. He asked her out for this Saturday night. Hmmmmm.... I wonder who's going to win. We'll keep you posted.
